COVID-19 Updates

We Are Open

The Alameda County Public Works Agency (ACPWA) provides essential services to Alameda County residents and our doors remain open during weekdays while shelter in place orders are in effect. Please note, in an effort to protect our customers and employees, we are following the Alameda County Health Officer orders requiring wearing of a face mask at all times, and keeping a distance of 6 feet apart.

Permit Center

Permit applications can be processed by email and online submissions. Please visit the Permits Page for information about building permit submittal requirements or for permit center updates.

To facilitate more business operations, Alameda County Board of Supervisors has authorized approval of an Urgency Ordinance to Implement a Temporary Permit Program for Use of Sidewalks within County Right of Way during the COVID-19 Emergency.

A guideline is provided for applicants that includes a list of requirements and certain standards that must be adhered to prior to issuance of any encroachment permit into the County right of way. Visit the Encroachment Permits page to review the guideline including permit requirements.
