Palomares Road Closure EXTENDED

The Alameda County Public Works Agency continues its debris clean-up and slope stabilization efforts on Palomares Road, in the vicinity of mile marker 8.70.

Palomares Road remains closed to all traffic (motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians) between Palo Verde Road, Castro Valley, and Niles Canyon Road, Fremont, through August 2017.   Crews recently discovered unsafe conditions on the hillside, which need to be addressed prior reopening the roadway.

Residents will need to access their homes from either Palo Verde Road or Niles Canyon Road.

Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the areas, and use alternate routes.
