Redwood Road remains closed to all motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians at mile marker 7.38 due to roadway failure.
Geologists have determined that the hillside is still moving, increasing the possibility of further roadway washout and slope failure. Engineers continue to work closely with the geologists to implement long-term solutions which provide for the restoration of the roadway.
Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians are advised to avoid the areas and use alternate routes.
Guests accessing the East Bay Regional Park District’s Anthony Chabot campground facilities need to enter from the Oakland side of Redwood Road.
