Traffic Safety

The Traffic Safety Division maintains over 20,000 street signs throughout the unincorporated areas of Alameda County.  This includes the fabrication and installation of new signs approved by the Traffic Engineering Department as well as the repair and/or replacement of signs damaged due to accidents or vandalism.

This division also maintains the raised pavement markers and oversees the line striping, pavement wording and crosswalks painted on unincorporated roadways.  This maintenance is done both on an annual basis and as-needed when there is damage to roadway markers.
