Permits

Building or development projects, work within public right of way, grading and activities that impact watercourses in unincorporated Alameda County are among the many activities that require compliance with various County Ordinances and acquisition of permits. The Alameda County Public Works Agency offers online services for acquisition of buildingencroachment and well/drilling permits, and continues to expand its online permit offerings.  Through the Virtual Permit Center, an internet based online portal, customers can apply for building permits from any-where at any-time using their computer devices. Additionally, for those applicants who wants to secure approval and permits in person, ACPWA offers a One-Stop Permit Center allowing applicants to interact with various departments including building and grading, planning, and fire, at a single location.
