Residential Permit Parking Program

The Residential Permit Parking Program (RPPP) helps alleviate parking congestion for residents of certain streets where non-resident overflow parking tends to occur. With an RPPP in place, residents are eligible to purchase a permit that allows them to park for an unlimited amount of time, while those without permits would be limited to 2-hours.

To determine whether the RPPP program is available for your neighborhood, please contact ACPWA's traffic engineering department at 510-670-5485.

If your neighborhood is deemed eligible for the RPPP, you'll then need to complete the form Petition for Residential Permit Parking (PDF - 272KB) and mail it to:

Obtaining a RPPP Permit for Your Vehicle

If you reside in a neighborhood that is part of the RPPP, you will need to purchase a special permit to park your vehicle on the street in excess of 2 hours. To obtain this special permit, please visit our Permit Center located at 399 Elmhurst Street, Room 141 in Hayward, CA 94544. We are available from 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
