ACPWA maintains and operates 24 flood control pump stations throughout the County. These pump stations are an integral part of the flood control system that provide the necessary flood protection to residents and businesses. While these stations operate year-round, they become an indispensable asset in managing stormwater runoff during the rainy season.
Alvarado Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to the Alvarado Pump Station cover approximately 707 acres of residential, industrial and open space areas in Flood Control Zone 3A. Stations four diesel engines and pumps have a combined pumping capacity of 105,000 gallons of stormwater per minute.
Ameron Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to Ameron Pump Station is approximately 70 acres of residential, industrial and school areas in Flood Control Zone 3A. The station four electric motor and pumps have a combined pumping capacity of 54,000 gallons of stormwater per minute.
Besco Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to the Besco Pump Station cover approximately 484 acres of residential, industrial and school areas in Flood Control Zone 3A. Stations six electric pumps have a combined pumping capacity of 186,000 gallons of stormwater per minute.
Belevedere Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to the Belvedere Pump Station covers approximately 208 acres of residential, commercial and open space areas in Flood Control Zone 9. It house (1) 100Hp duel drive pump electric/diesel prime movers, 1 electric medium flow pump and 1 electric low flow pump and have a combined pumping capacity of 48,760 gallons of stormwater per minute.
D-1 Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to the D-1 Pump Station cover approximately 172 of residential, industrial and open space areas in Flood Control Zone 9. Stations one 1 electric/diesel pumps engines and two electric low flow pumps have a combined pumping capacity of 42,450 gallons of stormwater per minute.
Davis Street Pump Station
The Davis Street Pump Station cover combined pumping capacity of 65,195 gallons of stormwater per minute.
Eden Landing Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to the Eden Landing Pump Station cover approximately 390 areas industrial and open space areas in Flood Control Zone 3A. Stations four electric/diesel pumps have a combined pumping capacity of 80,000 gallons of stormwater per minute.
Eden Shores Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to the Eden Shores pump station convers approximately 375 acres west of Hesperian Boulevard in Hayward. Station Station’s six electric/diesel have a combined pumping capacity of 103,500 gallons of stormwater per minute.
Ettie Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to the Ettie Pump station is approximately 2,143 acres of residential, commercial, schools, industrial and open space areas in Flood Control Zone 12. The station consists of four diesel pumps and two electric low flow pumps with a combined pumping capacity of 468,800 gallons of stormwater per minute.
F-Station Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to F-Station covers approximately 240 acres in Flood Control Zone 9. The station’s three electric/diesel and 2 low flow pumps have a combined pumping capacity of 38,000 gallons of stormwater per minute.
H-Station Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to H pump station is covers 30 acres of residential, commercial, institutional and open space in Flood Control Zone 9. The station’s two electric motors pumps have a combined pumping capacity of 6,000 gallons of stormwater per minute.
Industrial Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to Industrial Pump station is approximately 990 area of residential industrial and school area in Flood Control Zone 3A. The station’s three diesel engine pump and one electric motor pump have a combined pumping capacity of 365,200 gallons of stormwater per minute.
J-2 Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to J-2 Pump Station is approximately 397 area of residential, industrial and open space area in Flood Control Zone 5. The station’s four diesel engine pump and one electric pumps have a combined pumping capacity of 160,000 gallons of stormwater per minute.
J-3 Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to J-2 Pump Station is approximately 322 area of residential, commercial, school and open space area in Flood Control Zone 5. The station’s five electric pump have a combined pumping capacity of 56,250 gallons of stormwater per minute.
Lake Merritt Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to the Station is Lake Merritt Pump station is approximately 5,060 acres of residential, industrial commercial, school and open space area in Flood Control Zone 12. The station’s 4 diesel engine pump have a combined pumping capacity of 412,816 gallons of stormwater per minute.
Robert's Landing Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to the Robert’s Landing Pump Station is 82 acres of residential and open space area in Flood Control Zone 2. The station’s four electric pump have a combined pumping capacity of 27,100 gallons of stormwater per minute.
Russ Road Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to the Russ Road Pump Station is 108 acres of residential and open space area in Flood Control Zone 3A. The station’s three diesel pump have a combined pumping capacity of 30,000 gallons of stormwater per minute.
Russ Stratford Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to the Stratford Pump Stations is 34 acres of residential, industrial and open space areas in Flood Control Zone 3A. The station’s three electric pumps capacity of 10,075 gallons of stormwater per minute.
Sulphur Creek Pump Station
The drainage area tributary to the Stratford Pump Station is 68 acres of industrial area in Flood Control Zone 2. The station’s three diesel pump have a combined pumping capacity of 140,000 gallons of stormwater per minute.
Other Pump Stations
McKillop Pump Station: The purpose of this pump station is to stabilize the earthen slope within the Willian D. Wood Park by dewatering the rock keyway slope protection in the park.Temescal Pump Station: The purpose of this pump station is to supply irrigation water to the Rockridge-Temescal Greenbelt
Verona: The purpose this pump station serves approximately 7.15 acres of roadway and un-developed land top protect to the Pleasanton-Sunol Road railroad from flooding
Westview: The serves a total of approximately 87 acres of residential industrial and school areas in Flood Control Zone 3A
