About the Pavement Management Program

The Pavement Management Program is designed to identify pavement treatments that promote preventive maintenance such as overlays, crack sealing, slurry seals, micro-seals and chip seals in order to prolong the life span of pavement surfaces. Maintenance strategies advanced through this program will lead to substantial savings, by avoiding the cost of reconstructing a street that could exceed ten times the cost of preventative maintenance.

The Alameda County Public Works Agency uses StreetSaver®, a Pavement Management Software, to monitor, prioritize and recommend types of treatment, and to estimate costs of treatments and rehabilitation.
