Damon Slough Desilting, Oakland

Over time, silt deposits — caused by particles of soil, sand and other matter that settle in water, eroded from upstream watershed — obstruct and reduce a channel’s capacity to convey flow. The Damon Slough Desilting Project will remove the silt and sediment build up on flood control channel’s bottom, restore the channel’s capacity to contain and convey storm water flows and minimize potential for flooding on the adjacent properties.

The Damon Slough Desilting Project is currently underway.  Anticipated completion is early November 2016.
