Haviland Avenue Sidewalk Improvement Project

 HAVILAND AVENUE
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT FROM BLOSSOM WAY TO GROVE WAY

The Haviland Avenue Sidewalk Improvement Project includes improvements to sidewalks, curbs and gutters along Haviland Avenue between Blossom Way and Grove Way in the Cherryland Area.

Project Status

Construction is expected to begin this Summer 2019. (Schedule subject to change)

The County is proposing to construct sidewalk and roadway improvements on Haviland Avenue between Blossom Way and Grove Way. In addition to the lack of sidewalk in this segment of the road, the pavement is also in need of repairs and formal on-street parking spaces should be established.

PROJECT OBJECTIVE

This segment of road is approximately half of a mile from Cherryland Elementary School. The proposed improvements are expected increase safety and promote healthy lifestyles for the community.

PROJECT FEATURES

• Construct curb, gutter, and sidewalk

• Install storm drainage system

• Reconstruct pavement

• Plant street trees for community beautification and to create a more pleasant walking environment and traffic calming effect

A community meeting was held on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at 6:30 p.m, at Cherryland Elementary School.
