Mission Creek Restoration Project

current status

Remaining work to be completed includes:

  • Final grading for pathways that are not yet complete;
  • Installation of asphalt concrete pathways, concrete pathways and sidewalks; and
  • Completion of the new irrigation system.

We anticipate reopening the following Gomes Park entrances on the downstream side of Mission Creek, closest to Lake Elizabeth, on or before May 12:

  • UPRR Crossing
  • Valdez Way
  • La Purissima Place
  • West Ambar Place

Lake Elizabeth will be accessible from Lemos Lane, by way of the west Ambar Place park entrance.

The playground area (only) will be accessible from the east Ambar Place park entrance by May 12, 2017.

Gomes Park, upstream side of Mission Creek, will remain closed to complete landscape installation following completion of the above. Once installed, the park will remain closed for 90-days (per City of Fremont ordinance/requirement) to allow the sod to root properly.

All work on the project remains subject to weather-related delays.
