Mission Creek Crossing Improvements

Project Overview

The Mission Creek Crossing Improvement Project at Lemos Lane will improve flood protection to the adjacent community by increasing culvert conveyance capacity. The project will be completed in two phases. Phase 1 involves the relocation of a water line. Phase 2 will involve the construction of two additional 12’ wide by 8’ high box culverts.

Construction Start Date

Phase 1 construction work was completed in August 2021.

Phase 2 construction is anticipated to begin mid-June 2023. The portion of Lemos Lane between Chilten Drive and Tirso Street will be closed to through traffic during construction duration between mid-June and mid-August 2023.  Access to driveways will be maintained. The District worked with the City to provide a detour route for the construction duration, to ensure public safety around the construction site.

Construction hours are Mondays through Fridays between 8:00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.


Status

Phase 1 construction work began in the Summer of 2020 and will be completed in the Summer of 2021. The portion of Lemos Lane between Chiltern Drive and Tirso Street is closed to through traffic during the Summer of 2021.  Access to driveways is being maintained at all times. The District worked with the City of Fremont to provide a detour route for the construction period, to ensure public safety around the construction site.
