Mission Creek Crossing Improvements

Project Overview

The Mission Creek Crossing Improvement Project at Lemos Lane will improve flood protection to the adjacent community by increasing culvert conveyance capacity. The project will be completed in two phases. Phase 1 involves the relocation of a water line. Phase 2 will involve the construction of two additional 12’ wide by 8’ high box culverts.

Construction Start Date

Phase 1 construction work was completed in August 2021.

Mission Creek Crossing Improvement Project Phase 2 construction is anticipated to begin in mid-June 2023. The project is scheduled to be completed by early November 2023. The portion of Lemos Lane between Chiltern Drive and Tirso Street will be closed to through traffic from mid-June to mid-August 2023 and will be opened to restricted two-way traffic from mid-August to late October. Lemos Lane between Chiltern Drive and Tirso Street will be fully restored by October 27, 2023. During road closure, access to driveways will be maintained.

Construction hours are as follows:

Mondays through Fridays between 8:00 AM and 7:00 PM

Saturdays between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM


Status

The portion of Lemos Lane between Chiltern Drive and Tirso Street is closed to through traffic starting from June 26,2023. It is expected to be reopened for two-way traffic by August 12, 2023.  Access to driveways is being maintained at all times. The District has collaborated with the City of Fremont to establish a detour route during the construction period to ensure public safety in the vicinity of the construction site.
