Project Overview
The Haviland Avenue Improvement project extends along Haviland Avenue from Medford Avenue to Blossom Way in the Cherryland Community.
The project will construct continuous sidewalks, improve pedestrian facilities, reconstruct the roadway pavement, and enhance accessibility throughout the corridor. These improvements will establish continuous ADA-compliant paths of travel along Haviland while improving safety, mobility, and connectivity for all roadway users.
The project supports Alameda County’s Vision 2036 for Safe and Livable Communities and advances the County’s 10X goal of Accessible & Integrated Infrastructure.

Community Outreach
The Haviland Avenue Sidewalk Project will be featured at the ACPWA Transportation Improvement Projects Open House on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
Community members are invited to stop by anytime during the event to learn more about the project, provide feedback on the proposed improvements, and speak directly with County staff.
