San Leandro Storm Repair

Zone No. 13

San Leandro Storm Damage Repairs behind 1045 Lee Ave, 1073 Lee Ave, and 881 St Mary’s Ave

Project Overview

Following severe storm events in January and February of 2023, three homeowners, located at 881 St. Mary’s Avenue, 1073 Lee Avenue, and 1045 Lee Avenue, reported creek bank failures behind their properties along the north bank of San Leandro Creek in the City of San Leandro.

The proposed project aims to stabilize the creek bank and minimize the potential for future erosion, by implementing a combination of vegetated soil lifts and a sheet pile at the toe of the channel. Above the soil lifts and sheet pile, a geogrid-reinforced embankment will be constructed to provide additional support and reinforcement to the creek bank.

  • Geogrid reinforced upper bank slope
  • Native hydroseeding and planting
